Unleash yer inner shipwright and prepare for a clash of epic proportions! Before ye set sail, each couple will craft their own miniature pirate ship, a testament to their creativity and cunning. Present yer vessel to the assembled fleet, and let the voting decide the most seaworthy design. Then, prepare for battle! From the balloon launch, ye’ll fire upon yer rivals, aiming to sink their ships and claim victory. But beware, for the vanquished shall not leave empty-handed! The ‘booty’ is collected in a most unusual fashion, with each team’s designated ‘booty provider’ receiving a playful ‘spanking’ based on their ship’s placement. Join us for an afternoon of laughter, friendly rivalry, and a touch of pirate mischief!

“Rules of Engagement and the Booty’s Bounty”
1. The Battle:
- Order of Attack: Teams draw a random number from a hat to determine the order of participation.
- Targeting: Each team, in their turn, will use the provided balloon launch to fire a single water balloon at the ship of their choosing.
- Elimination:
- A ship is eliminated if it is directly hit by a water balloon.
- A ship is eliminated if its sails become submerged in the water.
- Continuing Fire: Even after a team’s ship is eliminated, they continue to take their turn firing at the remaining ships.
- Final Ship: The battle continues until only one ship remains afloat, declaring the winning team.
2. The Booty (Spankings):
- Designated Recipient: Before the battle, each team must designate one partner to be the “booty recipient.”
- Placement and Spankings:
- The winning team’s “booty recipient” receives zero spankings.
- The second-to-last eliminated team’s “booty recipient” receives one spanking.
- The third-to-last eliminated team’s “booty recipient” receives two spankings.
- This pattern continues, with each earlier eliminated team receiving one additional spanking.
- Administration:
- Spankings will be administered by a designated “booty master” in a playful and lighthearted manner.
- Spankings will be administered with consent, and any participant can opt out at any time.
- The “booty master” will insure that the spankings are playful, and fun.
- Consent and Safety:
- This activity is intended to be fun and consensual.
- Any participant can opt out of receiving spankings at any time.
- The “booty master” will ensure that all spankings are administered safely and playfully.
“Shipwright’s Code: Rules for Crafting Yer Pirate Vessel”
“Avast, ye shipbuilders! To ensure a fair and swashbuckling competition, adhere to these rules when crafting yer pirate vessel:
For best results during assembly, we recommend using glue specifically designed for foam. The best option is Styrogoo, which creates a strong bond without melting or warping the foam. Be sure to apply glue evenly between each layer and allow time to dry before moving to the next piece.
This type of foam also responds well to carving and sanding, making it easy to customize your ship’s shape. It’s very important to add weight below the waterline—otherwise, your boat will likely tip over when placed in water. Consider small stones, washers, or similar items glued into the bottom layer as ballast to improve stability. Make sure to test your boat in water before the battle begins so you have time to adjust and avoid any unexpected capsizing.
Below is a visual step-by-step guide showing the stacking of the foam layers provided in the kit:
1. Kit Size and Base:
- “The base of yer ship must remain the size of the provided kit. No alterations to the overall dimensions are permitted. This ensures all vessels are of comparable size and the lagoon does not become over crowded.
- “You may add to the provided base, but not extend beyond its original dimensions.”
- your kit comes with five pieces and three masts, you may cut, shape or modify in anway but can not add any length witdh or height, no keeps, outriggers, estensions, or floats.

2. Permitted Materials:
- “Use only hobby craft materials, including:
- Foam (various types)
- Lightweight wood (e.g., balsa wood, craft sticks)
- Cloth (e.g., felt, cotton, lightweight sailcloth)
- String, rope, and yarn
- Glue (appropriate for the materials)
- Paint and markers
- Small decorative items (e.g., beads, buttons, plastic gems)
- “All materials must be safe for use in water.”
3. Prohibited Materials:
- “Do not use heavy materials, other then as ballast, that could damage the lagoon or other vessels.
- “No metal components, glass, or sharp objects.
- “No pre-made model ship parts or electronic components.”
- “No explosives, or fire of any kind.”
4. Sails and Rigging:
- “Sails must be made from lightweight cloth or paper.
- “Rigging can be created using string, rope, or yarn.
- “Sails must be able to withstand a gentle breeze and the occasional splash.”
5. Decorative Elements:
- “Feel free to add decorative elements to personalize yer vessel, but ensure they do not compromise its stability or create an unfair advantage.
- “Pirate flags, figureheads, and other thematic decorations are encouraged!”
- This type of foam is Paint, sanding, shaping friendly.
6. Seaworthiness:
- “Yer vessel must float and remain relatively stable in the water.
- “The judges (and yer fellow pirates) will have the final say on whether a vessel is seaworthy.”
- Test your boat before the competition. Its harder to make a boat float correctly then you think.
7. Sportsmanship:
- “Remember, this is a friendly competition! Build yer vessel with creativity and good sportsmanship in mind.”
